The aftermath of the tragic Jeju Air crash has left families heartbroken, with some pets also left abandoned in its wake. Among them was Pudding, a dog rescued by the South Korean animal rights group Care, after being discovered wandering alone in Yeonggwang county, South Jeolla province.

According to Care’s social media update, Pudding belonged to the eldest victim of the crash, a 79-year-old man, and his family, all of whom perished in the accident. The family, including the man's wife, daughter, and six-year-old granddaughter, had been on a trip to Bangkok, Thailand.

With no caretakers left, Pudding had been roaming between the family home and the village center, seemingly searching for its lost family. Villagers, touched by the dog’s loyalty, began feeding it as it waited by roads and the village hall.

Care stepped in after observing Pudding’s vulnerable situation. “We determined that it was unsafe for Pudding to roam the village without a caretaker.”

The organization contacted the grieving family members during the funeral and decided to provide shelter and care for Pudding until a suitable guardian could be found.

Currently, Pudding has been transported to Seoul and is undergoing medical care. Initial examinations revealed harmful substances, such as onions and chicken bones, in the dog’s vomit, likely consumed during its time scavenging for food.
