Just in time for the holidays, Jor-el Espina Atelier was unvelied on 5 December 2024 at the seventh floor of One Corporate Plaza, Arnaiz Street, Makati city. This is the second shop while the first one is in Espina’s hometown, Iloilo City.
The 12 sq.m. shop sports a fusion of contemporary design sensibilities that remain true to the designer’s aesthetic. The mix of styles and integration of industrial looks and romanticism with feminine touches results into a captivating display of modern eclecticism. On one side of the room is a lineup of towering mannequins, while the opposite side are racks that showcase the designer’s limited-edition pieces, one-of-kind creations, bridal gowns, menswear and ready-to-wear. The atelier also welcomes custom or made-to-measure pieces.
The shop is very relaxed, with lots of room to play, designed by Espina himself. The celebrated designer wanted everything in the space to bear his touch, something intimate and personal. Most of the furniture pieces, decors and art pieces are locally made by a Filipino artist, designer or artisan. Creations by Leeroy New and Jerome Lorico and furnishings from Pampanga add local flavors aside from the endless piña textile you can see everywhere. The mood is light, bright and easy, which is how every shopping experience should be, and yes they do have coffee and cocktails too.
Jor-el Espina Atelier is open daily from Monday to Sunday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and is located at Unit 703 One Corporate Plaza, Arnaiz Avenue, Makati City.
