The Department of Transportation’s Special Action and Intelligence Committee for Transportation (DoTr-SAICT) apprehended six unauthorized or “colorum” vans bound for Batangas on Saturday, 14 December.
According to the DoTr-SAICT, most of the vehicles were found operating as public transport, charging passengers fares ranging from P40 to P150.
One of the apprehended vans was being used as a school service, charging P2,500 monthly, while another was discovered offering vehicle rental services at P6,000 per transaction.
The vans, privately owned and operating without the required authorization from the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board, were issued temporary operator’s permits.
As part of the enforcement procedure, their license plates were confiscated, and the vehicles were impounded.
