In a social media post, MMC shared an image of red lights switched on at the hospital entrance, a traditional signal of their need for blood.
“With these turned on in front of the hospital’s Tower 1, MakatiMed Blood Bank relays the message that it is in need of blood donations,” the hospital said.
The MMC Blood Bank is open every day from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. and those interested in donating can call (+632) 8888 8999 local 3016 or email blood.bank@makatimed.net.ph for more information or to schedule an appointment.
The Philippine Red Cross has issued general eligibility requirements for blood donation which include good health, at least 16 years old and at least weighing 50 kilograms.
Individuals with ear piercings or tattoos can donate blood one year after the procedure. Blood donations can be made every three months, but no more than four times per year.
