CAMP BGEN OSCAR M. FLORENDO – A total of 300 newly appointed Patrolmen and Patrolwomen officially joined the ranks of the Philippine National Police (PNP) in Region 1 during an oath-taking ceremony held on Wednesday at the PRO 1 Grandstand.

Police Brigadier General Lou Frias Evangelista, Regional Director of Police Regional Office 1, administered the oath of office to the recruits, which included 83 females and 217 males. He commended them for passing the rigorous screening process conducted by the PRO 1 Regional Screening Committee.

In his address, PBGEN Evangelista urged the recruits to prepare themselves for the challenges ahead by training rigorously and upholding the highest standards of morality and discipline in their roles.

“Being in the police service is no ordinary feat; it is a calling, a responsibility, and a commitment to the service of others, believing in a safer and more secure future. You have responded to a higher calling to stand at the front lines and serve our nation,” Evangelista stated.

He emphasized that the ceremony marks only the beginning of their journey, noting the importance of their upcoming training in shaping them into competent public servants.

“Ang panunumpa ninyo sa araw na ito ay simula pa lamang; mahaba pa ang kailangan ninyong lalakbayin, at marami pang pagsubok ang naghihintay sa inyo,” he said, encouraging the recruits to excel in their six-month Basic Recruit Course.

The training will be conducted at the Regional Training Center 1 in Aringay, La Union.

Recruits will receive a basic monthly salary of PHP 29,668, exclusive of allowances, during their training period. Patrolman, the entry-level rank in the PNP, marks the recruits’ first step in their policing careers.
