Jarvey Gayoso will be bringing in his experience from playing in the Cambodian Premier League when he suits up for the ASEAN Mitsubishi Electric Cup.

Gayoso, who plays for Phnom Penh Crown FC, said the competitiveness he had during his stint overseas will be an asset for the national team when they face Myanmar on 12 December at the Rizal Memorial Football Stadium.

“It has been a good experience for me playing in Cambodia and what I can say is that the competitiveness of the league is something I will definitely bring when it comes to the national team,” Gayoso said.

“I have been exposed to a lot of different experiences when it comes to living abroad and competing for my spot. That is something I want to bring to the national team.”

In 13 games with Phnom Penh Crown, Gayoso already scored nine goals and three assists.

The club is also undefeated in three games with a 12-1-0 win-draw-loss record.

Gayoso believes the squad’s chemistry under head coach Albert Capellas will be crucial in their campaign this year as they attempt to get back to the semifinals after six years.

“I believe we are taking in the right direction when it comes to ASEAN competitions. I’m excited to get out there and be able to compete,” Gayoso said.

“We all believe in one goal and we are unified in that idea so I don’t think anyone here has trouble playing with each other.”
