Mayor Honey Lacuna and Vice Mayor Yul Servo expressed their profound gratitude to the members of the Muslim community in Manila for pledging their continued support to their tandem.
“We express our gratitude to our Muslim brothers for your renewed trust. You can trust that we will never leave you and we will never leave you,” the mayor said during the formalization of the Muslims’ commitment to continuously support her and Servo.
“As your mother, our main priority will be health, wisdom, livelihood, order and prosperity. Everyone is with you, because everyone is important,” she added.
The Manila-based Muslim groups took their oath before the mayor at the Manila Muslim Pledge of Loyalty event held at the Sharief Mansion in Quiapo, Manila.
Local officials said that the event was sponsored by barangay chairman Omaiya Sharief and Council and barangay chairman Sultan Suharto Buleg Al-Hajj.
On this occasion, the said chairmen expressed gratitude to Lacuna for promoting good governance and taking good care of the people of Manila.
With her at the helm of the city’s affairs, the two chairmen said that Manila residents are in good hands since they do not only have a hard-working mayor but more than that — a lady doctor who understands the needs of Manilans when it comes to healthcare.
“To the best of our ability, we will provide unparalleled support... the service our mayor is doing is wonderful... we now have not only a mayor but also doctor who, in addition to serving, treats the sick without charging anything. That is the true servant of the people,” they said.
