GCash was named one of the Fintech Innovators Asia 2024 by Fortune, the global business publication, at the Singapore Fintech Festival on 6 November 2024.
The inaugural list highlights companies making significant advancements in Asia’s growing financial technology sector, particularly those demonstrating innovation, driving technological progress, and transforming financial services. Selection factors included a company’s portfolio impact, growth potential, and contributions to areas such as payments, digital banking, cryptocurrency exchanges, wealth management, and insurance technologies.
Inclusion in the Fortune list recognizes GCash's efforts to promote digital financial inclusion in the Philippines and provide innovative, accessible financial services to over 90 million users.
Eight out of 10 Filipinos use GCash, making it a key component of the country’s digital economy and a leader in expanding financial accessibility across the region.
GCash continues to distinguish itself by developing AI-powered tools tailored to address the unique challenges faced by its users, particularly those from lower-income groups. Nearly 90% of its users come from these demographics, with notable representation from women and young users outside Metro Manila.
“It’s great to see the efforts of the 2,000 employees at GCash being recognized,” said GCash President and CEO Martha Sazon. “This achievement wouldn’t be possible without the support of our partners and the Philippine government, which shares our commitment to financial inclusion.”
GCash is also participating in the Singapore Fintech Festival for the third consecutive year. On 7 November, Sazon will deliver a keynote titled “Safeguarding the Economy’s Backbone: Accelerating Global SME Financing through Digital Services,” focusing on GCash’s innovations for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
