The Philippine men's national football team suffered a 1-2 loss againsg Malaysia in the Merdeka Cup at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium in Kuala Lumpur last Wednesday.
Jefferson Tabinas scored the first goal in the match in the 27th minute to give the Philippines an early 1-0 lead.
But the Malaysians didn't stay idle for long after goals from Syamer Kutty Abba (43rd) and Safawi Rasid (73rd) gave the win.
The Philippines will face Tajikistan for the bronze medal on Sunday at the same venue.
