The cop was issued an ordinance violation ticket by the Quezon City Traffic Enforcement Group for reckless driving.

The Philippine National Police on Friday said it will investigate reports that one of its officers and vehicles were involved in a mishap along EDSA that turned into a viral social media incident last 27 December.
PNP chief Benjamin Acorda Jr. said the report, concerning a police car suddenly veering into the EDSA Busway and causing an incoming bus to hit the railings to avoid collision, is being investigated.
Acorda stressed that the exclusive lane for public utility buses may only be used by marked vehicles like ambulances and police cars if they are responding to calls or emergency cases.
"When it's really necessary to use the fastest route. That's the exemption," he explained in the sidelines of his inspection of stores selling firecrackers in Bocaue, Bulacan.
The driver of the police car that suddenly entered the busway had been relieved from his post pending the completion of the investigation. The cop was also issued an ordinance violation ticket by the Quezon City Traffic Enforcement Group for reckless driving.
In a statement, the PNP said that under Acorda, the organization has a zero-tolerance policy toward personnel misconduct.
"We place utmost importance on strict adherence to traffic rules and regulations, as well as the responsible utilization of government-issued vehicles," it said.
Five bus passengers were injured after the bus hit an MRT-3 railing while trying to avoid the police car.
