A garbage collector was stabbed on Sunday by a woman in Last Piñas after they had a verbal altercation.
The Las Piñas City Police identified the suspect as Catherine Abellera, 35 years old, and a vendor.
According to the report, the victim was engaged in a verbal tussle with her husband when the suspect intervened and confronted the quarreling couple.
Police Senior Master Sergeant Glen Acaba stated that it began when the victim visited her mother-in-law's house to confront her husband about his alleged involvement with another woman.
"It all started when the victim went to the house of her mother-in-law in Barangay Almanza Uno to pick up his partner. When she arrived, she found her partner with another woman. The victim had an argument with her husband," Acaba said in an interview.
During the verbal altercation between the victim and her husband, the suspect, the sister of the victim's spouse, intervened to defend her brother.
"When the victim's spouse entered the yard with his mistress, her husband's sister intervened, which caused them a short verbal tussle. Later on, the suspect took a knife and stabbed the victim seven times," Acaba added.
The police reported that the victim has been discharged from the hospital after undergoing a medical examination. The stabbing resulted in slashes on the left side of the victim's head.
Abellera is currently detained at the Las Pinas City Police Station SDMS office and has already been charged with frustrated homicide.
