It was a refreshing sight to see LA Tenorio acting like a player's coach inside the hard court and that reenergized a Scottie Thompson-less Barangay Ginebra team in coming away with a 110-99 triumph over Terrafirma Sunday in in the Philippine Basketball Association Commissioner's Cup at the Philsports Arena.
Thompson, the Most Valuable Player two seasons ago, was sidelined by a leg injury, but his spot was taken over by the returning Tenorio, who played with so much passion and emotion as fans welcomed his comeback after battling a dangerous illness that is colon cancer.
Tenorio started the game for the Gin Kings, played significant minutes throughout the game and his team went on to post its third straight victory to improve its win-loss record to 4-1.
Tenorio scored six points, both of them coming from beyond the arc.
It was the first game after nine months of being idle and the 745th of his career for the Modern Day Iron Man.
