The Bureau of Immigration on Sunday arrested a blacklisted Chinese national while trying to depart at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3.
The Chinese traveler was identified by BI-NAIA officials as Zhou XingXing, a 31-year-old male.
According to the Bureau, Zhou was discovered to be the target of a January 2023 order to leave the BI due to overstaying and employment at an online gambling firm using a PAGCOR license that had expired.
Zhou was taken into the custody of the BI Border Control and Intelligence Unit after his detention and immediately turned over to the BI's legal department for booking proceedings.
Then, he will be transferred to the BI Warden Facility in Camp Bagong Diwa, Taguig City.
Zhou will remain in the bureau's custody pending the implementation of his deportation, following the completion of legal proceedings.
