Freak accident claims ex-SK chair

Malaybalay, Bukidnon — A former Sangguniang Kabataan chairperson in Barangay Tablon, Cagayan de Oro City died after the vehicle he was driving overshot a bridge and fell into a ravine in Linamon town, Lanao del Norte on Saturday morning.
Police identified the victim as Billy Kid Auza, who was declared dead upon arrival at the Mary Community hospital in Linamon town.
Kolamabogan Police chief Police Captain Eric Logronio said that the victim was traveling from Cagayan de Oro to Linamon with a nephew when the accident occurred.
Initial reports disclosed that Auza apparently fell asleep over a bridge in Purok 2, Barangay Larapan and crashed into a ravine beside the river. The vehicle was a total wreck and rescuers retrieved the mangled body of the victim from the scene.
Meantime, his passenger, believed to be his nephew, survived and is currently under treatment at a hospital.
