BAGUIO CITY — Nueva Ecija cops vowed to investigate the killing of a man and a woman said to be a live-in partner inside a bus traversing a mountainous area of Carranglan, Nueva Ecija on 15 November 2023.
On the said date, the shooting was captured by the CCTV of the bus coming from Tuguegarao City, Cagayan. The victims boarded the bus when it arrived in Cauayan City, Isabela.
The footage went viral as it was shared multiple times by netizens.
The victims were identified as Gloria Mendoza Quillano, 60 years old, a resident of Sta. Luciana, Cauayan City in Isabela; and Arman Bautista, 55 years old, hails from Koronadal City, South Cotabato.
According to Carranglan Police, the incident took place at Barangay Minuli, Carranglan, Nueva Ecija.
In the footage, the victims are seated together in the front portion of the bus. Two men both wearing dark shirts and each of them was in camouflage short pants approached them and shot them at close range with pistols.
The two ordered the driver to stop and they boarded off the bus. After the suspects got out of the vehicle, the driver drove the bus to the nearest police station.
"The Nueva Ecija Police Provincial Office is actively investigating this heinous crime, and we assure the public that every effort is being made to bring the perpetrators to justice swiftly. Such acts of violence have no place in our society, and we condemn them in the strongest possible terms," the police stated. The police urge anyone with information related to the incident to help in identifying the perpetrators.
