RC Makati sponsors cancer screening mission in Rizal

In a bid to extend crucial healthcare services to underserved communities, the Rotary Club of Makati organized and sponsored a breast and cancer screening initiative on 7 November.
The mission targeted 100 women residing in Carissa Homes East 2, Barangay San Gabriel, Teresa, Rizal, with the primary goal of early detection and prevention. There to represent RC Makati were past president Cesar Campos and Rotarian Boy Arteche.
Significant strides
In partnership with the Rotary Club of Makati Premier District, the Philippine Cancer Society, the local government unit of Teresa, Rizal, and the Almighty God of Heaven Apostolic Ministry, RC Makati made significant strides in expanding access to essential healthcare services.
The joint effort facilitated the screening, aiming to provide preventive healthcare measures to a community in need.
Series of screening missions
The event was part of a series of cancer screening missions organized by the Rotary Club of Makati during this Rotary year, bringing the total number of screened women to 400.
These missions were made possible through the utilization of mobile screening facilities provided by the Philippine Cancer Society.
Funded by a Global Grant co-sponsored by the Rotary Club of Makati, these mobile units have played a crucial role in promoting early cancer detection and potentially saving lives through timely intervention.

The significance of such initiatives cannot be overstated, as they serve as vital tools in identifying cancer at its earliest stages, allowing for timely treatment and intervention.
By extending these screening services to communities like Teresa, Rizal, the Rotary Club of Makati and its partners have showcased a commitment to improving healthcare access for underserved populations.
