International remote work platform Nomad List ranked the Philippines 7th "fastest growing remote work hubs" in the world, Malacañang said on Tuesday.
Malacañang, citing a released video of the World Economic Forum, or WEF, Nomad List data, mentioned that the Philippines and eight other Asian countries became the fastest-growing remote work hubs in the world.
"Tracking the country's five-year growth from 2018 to 2022, the Philippines posted +78-percent growth. For 2023, it recorded +60-percent growth based on 10 months of data," Malacañang said in a statement.
"Last year, it posted +1,183-percent growth," it added.
Nomad users rank nations
Destinations are ranked by growth rates of tens of thousands of Nomad List users' visited places using live data from 299,498 check-ins. The top position is the recent check-in increase.
Travelers and workers may see the fastest-growing remote work hubs and their Nomad List rank to measure their popularity.

Ljubljana, Slovenia ranked 10th; Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam 9th; Hanoi 8th; Manila, Philippines 7th; Montevideo, Uruguay 6th; Penang, Malaysia 5th; Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia 4th; Seoul, South Korea 3rd; and Danang, Vietnam 2nd.
Tokyo at pole position
Tokyo is the fastest remote work hub, according to Nomad List.
"The Marcos government has been enticing businesses to come to the Philippines, considering the country's young, highly skilled, and English-speaking workforce," Malacañang said.
"The Philippines is also ideal for business due to its sustained economic growth rate, current bureaucratic reforms, and the administration's ongoing thrust for infrastructure development and digitalization," it added.
