Early voting conducted in Muntinlupa

The Commission on Elections conducted early voting hours on Monday in Muntinlupa to prioritize senior citizens, pregnant women, persons with disabilities, and indigenous people registered voters.
Comelec chairman George Erwin Garcia said that the registered priority voters should not vote along with the regular voters for their convenience.
"Our regular voters should not be accompanied by regular voters so they can vote properly. So, what the Comelec did was schedule an early voting hour between 5:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. only exclusive for them," Garcia said.
Garcia added that there is no need to set parameters for the priorities to vote in case they arrive late in the precincts.
"No need to set parameters for elders, IP's, and pregnant women as long as they are convenient. We will provide what's convenient to them. In case they arrive late, we have emergency accessible polling places, which means they can still vote there," he said.
The Comelec increased the allowance of the electoral board members facilitating the election from P6,000 to P10,000.
"For the allowance of the entire electoral board, instead of P6,000, we increased it to P10,000 nationwide. But here in Muntinlupa, including Naga City, all electoral board members have an additional P2,000, including all electoral boards in Bulacan, for being a highly urbanized city of San Jose del Monte, Bulacan," Garcia said.
