

King's Gambit Online Chess School best of Coach Richard Villaseran continue to shine in different chess tournaments nationwide.
Leading the way were 17-year old Tiv Omangay as well as 12 year old Charlee Andrea Manjares who emerged champions of the Open Rapid tournament in Angeles City as well as the 1st Farraf Sequito Age Group Chess Championships 12U, respectively.
Meanwhile, 16 year old Christian Mendoza and 15-year old Gabriel Ryan Paradero took 1st runner-up honors in the MCC Open Rapid tournaments and the 4th leg of the Rizal 20U chess tournament respectively.
Not to be outdone, 14 year old Vincent Ryu Dimayuga had the 2nd best performance in the 14U while competing in the open section the PCC Centennial Chess tournament and upsetting current national women's champion Woman International Master Marie Antoinnette SanDiego in the process.
Newly-minted National Master Michael Jan Inigo continues his excellent form in placing 7th in a strong open tournament in Dumaguete. Ian Dave Mercurio made it to the top of an open tournament in Tarlac and emerged as the top junior player.
7 year old whiz kid Elijah Loyola had the 2nd best ranking amoung U10 players in the U20 standard tournament while fellow King's Gambiiteer Magnus Braggais took 3rd spot among U10 players.
8 year old wunderkind emerged as top student in the open rapid tournaent in Angeles City while fellow King's Gambiteers Marcus Paruli and Albert Omangay took 3rd and 6th pllaces in the kiddies section.
Over at the UAAP Highschool chess competitions, King's Gambitteers National Masters Karlycris Clarito, Al-Basher Buto and Oshrie Jhames Reyes and Jiancarlo Rivera and Summer Oncita has been lording it over their rivals to lead their UST Team to the top of the standings.
