COMELEC announces updates on petition for DQ vs. candidates
The Commission on Elections announced the updated petitions filed for disqualification against six candidates, as of 16 October.
The Anti-Epal Task Force reported on Monday that about 99 show cause orders were issued.
The task force also filed petitions for disqualifications against 131 candidates in violation of Section 80 of the Omnibus Election Code or the prohibited act of premature campaigning.
According to COMELEC, of the 131 petitions filed, 35 have been raffled, 52 summons have been served, and 49 summons have been prepared by the Office of the Clerk of the Commission (OCOC).
The updated report of the COMELEC shows that they have filed 131 petitions for disqualification; 6,562 show cause orders issued for unverified complaints; 148 subpoenas issued and served for verified complaints; 3,151 answers to show cause orders received; 304 possible disqualification cases (upon initial assessment); and 577 dropped complaints (no factual basis).
