Stallion Laguna FC demolished Maharlika Manila FC 1991, 5-0, in the first leg of their 2023 Copa Paulino Alcantara quarterfinal match at the Rizal Memorial Football Stadium Friday evening.

Christian Ivanobski netted a brace in the 26th and 40th minutes with Yuta Nomura scoring in the 32nd minute.

Zhazary Fordy made it 4-0 in the 63rd with Ruben Doctora scoring the fifth goal in the 79th minute for Stallion.

"We started with our potential starting lineup for the AFC Cup. I think we did pretty good," Stallion head coach Ernest Nietas said.

Earlier, Kaya FC-Iloilo delivered a 3-0 win over University of the Philippines in their quarterfinal match.

Jarvey Gayoso scored a brace for The Lions in the 13th and 53rd minutes before Robery Mendy also scored a goal in the 83rd minute.

"We had to focus on this game first because this is important as well. Hopefully nobody gets injured," Kaya assistant coach Yu Hoshide said.
