Defending MPL PH champion ECHO started its MPL Season 12 campaign on a winning note following a sweep over Blacklist International this Friday at Shooting Gallery Studios in Makati City.

Composed of its M4 world championship roster of KarlTzy-led ECHO backed by Bennyqt, Sanford, Sanji, and sixth-man Jaypee, ECHO had it easy in the opening game. In fact, ECHO did not need to field its team captain Yawi in both games.

Blacklist International, the three-time MPL PH champion and M3 world champion, showed more fight in them in Game 2. In the end, their efforts were in vain after ECHO ended the series in 21 minutes.

"It was all part of the plan," Yawi quipped when asked why did not play in ECHO's opening game in Season 12.

Blacklist International coach Master the Basics, on the other hand, says the team is barely getting warmed up.

"We are still in the experimental stage," he said.
