The Philippine national Esports team Sibol emerged as the grand winner in the IESF World Esports Championship 2023 following a dominant victory over Indonesia this Sunday evening (Phl time) at Palatul Culturii in Iași, Romania.
Composed of AP Bren players Pheww, KyleTzy, Owgwen, Super Marco, and Pandora, Sibol did not lose a single game in the entire playoffs en route to booking a finals match against Indonesia. They were nearly as dominant against its Southeast Asian rivals, winning the series by 3-1.
"Thank you for all the support. We got even to those we needed to get even with. Wait for us in MPL Season 12, we will crush the competition there," said Sibol and AP Bren's roamer Owgen roamer after the match.
The win saw Team Philippines bag the lion's share of the prize pool with $50,000 or 2.8 million. With MPL Season 12 about to start, AP Bren is flying home to the Philippines soon as they are set to face TNC Pro Team on Friday, 8 September.
