Yeng Guiao is demanding consistency from Nick Evans in Rain or Shine's ongoing campaign in the William Jones Cup in Taipei.

Guiao said the 6-foot-11 Evans may have a decent game but he wants him to be more consistent that would lead to victories in their campaign in the prestigious invitational tournament.

"He's got a decent game. He has a solid inside game, but you know my system: I want my big man not just to play solid inside, but also shoot the ball from the perimeter," Guiao told DAILY TRIBUNE
in a Viber conversation.

"But more than that, I want to see more consistency from him. He's got good games, but he also had bad games. He needs to be more consistent."

Evans is the prime candidate to serve as the Elasto Painters import in the coming Commissioner's Cup of the Philippine Basketball Association starting 15 October.

Although he's not totally convinced with Evans' performance, Guiao is not rushing his progress.

"We just thought we crammed in preparing for this tournament," Guiao said. "So we're giving Nick enough time to prove himself."

Guiao said the Elasto Painters are also looking for other prospects. In fact, they tried to look for other possible reinforcements in the Jones Cup.

"The only problem is, imports who are playing here are contracted for a long term," Guiao said. "So they won't get their release. On the other hand, our season will be in October, so we won't be able to bring in an import
who is already playing in the Jones Cup, especially naturalized players of the national teams."

Guiao said they are not in a hurry to look for other prospects while waiting for Evans to improve.
