Saweetie, one of the hottest female rappers of this generation, is a proud Filipina despite her setting growing up. With that, she makes sure to represent her Filipino heritage whenever she can.

It made sense when she donned a Francis Libiran piece at the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 Draw last 29 April. It was a lilac sweetheart neckline corset dress with a dupioni silk skirt which cascaded around Saweetie's figure and an impressive thigh-high slit that elongated her legs.

Saweetie, whose real name is Diamonté Quiava Valentin Harper, grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and traces her Filipino roots to her Filipino-Chinese mother Trinidad Valentin who hailed from Tondo, Manila.
