A grandfather died after being beaten by his neighbor following a heated argument in Navotas City, on Wednesday.
The victim was identified as Valentin Lamigas, 62 of Block 37, Phase 2, Area 4, Barangay. NBBS Dagat-Dagatan, while the police are still conducting manhunt operation for the suspect, Verel del Rosario, legal age, who also lives in the said area.
According to PSSg. Reysie Peñaranda, in charge of the case, around 12:30 a.m., when the victim and the suspect had an argument inside the old man's house that led to the beating.
After the incident, the suspect fled while the victim was discovered by his son, Ronaldo Lamigas, 32, lying on the floor, bathing in his own blood from his mouth.
The son immediately rushed his father to the Navotas City Hospital, but was advised to transfer his father to the Jose Reyes Medical Center. The victim, however, insisted that he wants to go home.
Around 1:10 p.m. on the said day, the son noticed that the victim seemed unconscious and tried waking him up. The victim, however, was no longer responding.
He immediately sought help from Barangay NBBS Dagat-Dagatan, who in turn reported the incident to the Navotas PNP.
