Sen. Bong Go urged the national and local governments to continue stepping up vaccination efforts, particularly in remote areas.
On 16 December, Go said in a video message during a relief activity in Laurel, Batangas, that vaccines are critical to the country's return to normalcy.
Go urged his fellow Batangueños who are eligible yet still unvaccinated to participate in the national inoculation program to better protect themselves from the virus. He also asked them to remain vigilant and to continue following minimum health protocols.
The relief operation was held at the Brgy. Bugaan East gymnasium where the senator's team distributed snacks and masks to a total of 586 struggling Batangueños. They also gave away shoes and cellphones to select residents.
Moreover, representatives from the Department of Social Welfare and Development provided financial aid to the residents under its Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation program.
The senator then encouraged those in need of medical care to visit Batangas Medical Center in Batangas City or Batangas Provincial Hospital in Lemery where there are Malasakit Centers ready to assist them with their medical-related expenses. To date, there are 153 Malasakit Centers nationwide.
