In line with his continuing efforts to support vulnerable sectors nationwide especially amid the Christmas season, Sen. Bong Go sent his team to Iba, Zambales on 13 and 14 December, to assist the town's indigent residents.
Held at the Balin Sambali Gymnasium, Zambales Sports Complex, Go's team distributed snacks, shirts and masks to 793 indigents. Select beneficiaries also received shoes, cellular phones, and balls for volleyball and basketball.
Meanwhile, representatives from the Department of Social Welfare and Development extended separate financial aid through its Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation program.
Go, who heads the Senate Committee on Health and Demography, previously visited Zambales and personally inspected the newly constructed Super Health Center in Iba town.
Go, as Vice Chair of the Senate Committee on Finance, has likewise supported several initiatives in the province, such as the rehabilitation of roads in Botolan, Masinloc, San Felipe, San Marcelino and Olongapo City; rehabilitation of the public market in San Antonio; construction of a seawall in Masinloc; and construction of two multipurpose buildings and installation of solar powered street lights in Botolan.
