Sen. Bong Go attended the opening ceremonies of the Southern Tagalog Regional Association Of State Universities And Colleges Olympics 2022 at the Cavite State University in Indang, Cavite on Sunday, 4 December.
Go continues to promote grassroots sports development in the country.
"I have always advocated to the Filipino youth the practice of sports as an alternative to vices and other unproductive pursuits. When you have discipline, you are better able to handle challenges and obstacles," he underscored.
"It gives me great pleasure to address you all in this year's Southern Tagalog Regional Association of State Universities and Colleges Olympics. I would like to take this opportunity to extend a warm welcome to all the participants in this sporting event," Go said.
He then lauded all of the STRASUC officials for initiating and successfully organizing such a sports competition and expressed his optimism that the event would positively inspire more promising young athletes to showcase their abilities and skills.
During the event, Go also gave away balls for basketball, volleyball, and soccer to the 12 participating State Universities and Colleges teams. He also provided sunglasses and watches to select individuals.
