Sen. Bong Go personally spearheaded a relief operation together with the city government in Biñan, Laguna for its vulnerable residents on Thursday, 1 December, as part of the senator's continuing efforts to help more Filipinos in crisis situations recover more quickly.
Being the Chair of the Senate Committee on Health, Go expressed his gratitude to those who participated in the national vaccination program. He stressed how getting vaccinated boosts one's defenses against COVID-19 and likewise helps the country return to normalcy.
"Hindi tayo magtitipon ngayon kung walang bakuna. Kaya ini-engganyo ko kayo na magpabakuna dahil ang bakuna po ang tanging susi o solusyon para unti-unti tayong makabalik sa ating normal na pamumuhay," Go highlighted in his speech.
"Kung bakunado, mas protektado!," he reiterated.
Go and his team distributed grocery packs, vitamins, masks, meals, shirts, and umbrellas to 1,000 vulnerable residents at Biñan City Football Stadium. The senator also gave away bicycles, cellular phones, shoes, and balls for basketball and volleyball to select beneficiaries.
"Bukod sa pagiging Senate Chair on health, ako rin po ang chairperson sa sports. Gusto ko pong i-engganyo ang mga kabataan na get into sports, stay away from drugs," shared Go.
The senator then gave recognition to the Department of Social Welfare and Development for extending financial aid to the residents through its Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation program.
After his visit to Laguna, Go also attended the 91st National Assembly of the League of Vice Governors of the Philippines at the Manila Peninsula Hotel.
