Veteran actress Maricel Soriano dressed in drag and shared photos of her looks on her social media accounts on 20 November. Inspired by drag competition shows Drag Race Philippines and the upcoming Drag Den, she said her drag name is "Kinang Inay."
Soriano, who is known to be a "babaeng bakla" or fag hag, also released a video on YouTube parodying a drag competition, "Pa Drag Race Den," which featured Drag Race Philippines finalist Xilhouete. The video showed her and Xilhouete competing in a photo shoot and doing lip-syncs of Soriano's famous lines in television and films. The video also featured the conversation between Soriano and Xilhouete and their 12-year friendship. Soriano considers the drag performer her "anak-anakan" or foster child.
In Xilhouete's own post, she said, "I might not have experienced the real love of a mother. But God blessed me with so much more! She is my chosen mom! And I am blessed to have her."
Soriano's makeup and looks were created by Xilhouete and Drag Den contestant Shewarma.
