The Chinese-Canadian singer-actor, who rose to fame as a former member of South Korean group Exo, has been sentenced to 13 years in jail.
Wu will be doing 11 years and six months of jail time for raping three women from November to December 2020.
He was also sentenced to an additional one year and 10 months for the "crime of assembling a crowd to engage in sexual promiscuity" in July 2018 — he and his accomplices assaulted two drunk women.
Wu is also facing a fine of 600 million yuan for tax-related offenses. "Authorities state that between 2019 and 2020, Kris Wu evaded taxes of 95 million yuan and underpaid taxes of 84 million yuan," a Soompi report said.
He will be doing time on Chinese soil but will be immediately deported to Canada where he grew up.
In July 2021, Wu was arrested "after an 18-year-old Chinese student publicly accused him of inducing her and other girls, some of them younger than 18, to have sex with him," according to Reuters.
