AFP condemns anew Reds’ atrocities


The Armed Forces of the Philippines has condemned anew the Communist Party of the Philippines-New People's Army following the discovery of five remains in the province of Agusan del Norte.
In a statement Saturday, the AFP strongly denounced the communist members involved in the execution of two CAFGU members and three other civilians — whose bodies were found in the shallow graves of Santiago, Agusan del Norte on 30 October.
AFP Public Affairs office chief Col. Jorry Baclor the exhumed bodies of the killed individuals will serve as another evidence of CPP-NPA atrocities.
Baclor said these five people were the recent victims of communist rebels' abduction and killing activities.
The security forces conduct ongoing pursuit operations against the communist cadre for Mindanao, Myrna Sularte alias "Iyay/Edang or Maria Malaya" — whose the primary suspect of the violent act.
Baclor said the other suspect named Rolando Leyson Jr. alias "Edroy or Kikoy" was killed in an encounter last 14 September and his body was retrieved by government troops in Jabonga, Agusan del Norte — days later after the firefight.
