DSWD has assured the distribution of P20 million cash assistance and 10,000 food packs to the victims of earthquake in Ilocos Norte.
DSWD chief Erwin Tulfo's had am ocular in the province Thursday to provide initial assistance to families affected especially by damaged houses, and immediately extended emergency food stockpiles.
Based on the preliminary report, at least one house was totally damaged and 55 houses were partially damaged in different parts of the province.
As many as 36 individuals were reported injured and at least two with serious injuries were taken to the hospital for treatment.
Each of the partially damaged houses will receive P10,000 while those totally damaged will receive P30,000 from the department.
Tulfo said he will visit Abra next, the epicenter of the recent quake.
According to Ilocos Norte Gov. Matthew Joseph Manotoc, he has already asked the members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan to declare the province under state of calamity.
The assessment of damages in the said earthquake from 21 towns and two cities continues.
