No less than Manila City Mayor Honey Lacuna led the ground breaking of a blood bank in Sta. Ana Hospital which is seen to provide needed blood on surgeries of poor and sick patients.
Lacuna was joined by Vice Mayor Yul Servo, Sta. Ana Hospital director Dr. Grace Padilla, City Engineer Armand Andres, Manila Health Department chief Dr. Poks Pangan and stakeholders led by Jaime V. Ongpin Foundation Inc. president Reinaldo Bautista.
The Manila mayor signed a Deed of Donation with the said foundation which footed the expenses for the establishment of a blood bank in the said hospital.
Following the groundbreaking of the blood bank, the local officials also led the inauguration of the new Ambulatory Surgical Clinic located at the second floor of the SAH, through the aid of the Operation Smile Philippines.
