Get ready for perhaps the most daring bikini show of 2022.
The Cosmo Manila King and Queen 2022 candidates were presented at Le Reve Pool and Events Place in Quezon City on 23 October. The bikini show's grand coronation night will be held at the Skydome, SM North EDSA on 5 November.
The pageant is produced by model Marc Cubales, with Bembem Espanto as overall director.
"We're back to normal. As a producer, I would like to be the first to produce a sexy pageant competition, a bikini pageant in a very nice venue," Cubales said. "Yung feeling na nakakapagbigay ng work through producing is good."
Morena Carlos, one of the candidates, said she sees nothing wrong with a bikini pageant that showcases fit, healthy bodies while also pushing for the candidates' advocacies.
"It's already 2022 and I think this is one of the best competitions we have, especially that we're here to be an inspiration para sa ating mga mamamayan (for our people)."
"Ang kinaibahan dito ngayon ay tinitingnan hindi lang ang katawan namin kundi pati rin po ang aming backstory and purpose, kung bakit kami sumali sa pageant na ito (The difference is we're not just judged by our bodies but also our back story and purpose; why we joined this pageant). So it's not just the face and body," she added.
At the media launch, candidates Sahara Cruz and Nash Mendoza were chosen as Darlings of the Press.
Part of the proceeds of the show will go to Cosmo Foundation's chosen charities, Gintong Palad and Balikatan.
