Indiscriminate firing by an irate woman in front of the house of an official of the Manila Police District resulted in the death of a 20-year-old housemaid early Monday in Sampaloc, Manila.
Responding policemen arrested Kristie Rose Infante Castro, a resident of Baguio City, after she peppered with gunshots the house of P/Maj. Rommel Purisima, head of the MPD special operations unit.
Castro, who was aboard a black Ford pickup, shot it out with responding cops who later on seized from her a 9mm pistol.
Reanne Aquino Pilar, a native of Binalonan, Pangasinan died on the spot from gunshot wounds in the head and body.
The shooting happened at 1:45 a.m. at Mindanao Avenue, corner Mindoro Street in Manila. The woman was arrested following a car chase and running gun battle that ended along Ramon Magsaysay Boulevard in Sta. Mesa, Manila.
The woman detained at the MPD police station 4 was allegedly spurned by her lover.
