CA junks eight PCG members plea
The petitioners argued that the prosecution also failed to establish that there was conspiracy among them to commit the crime
The Court of Appeals denied the petition of eight Philippine Coast Guard personnel to set aside its decision 14 December 2021 which upheld the order of the Regional Trial Court of Manila meting them to 14 years in prison after they were found guilty of homicide involving a Taiwanese fisherman whose fishing vessel was at the Balintang Channel in Batanes in 2013.
