Barely a week after his controversial recent trip to Singapore with his family, President Bongbong Marcos is preparing to embark on another foreign trip, this time to France.
During a follow-up discussion on Marcos and French President Emmanuel Macron's recent exchanges at her official residence in Manila, French Ambassador to the Philippines and Micronesia Michèle Boccoz revealed that there is an ongoing discussion about Marcos' potential visit to France.
Boccoz did not disclose the date of Marcos' potential visit to France, stressing that "it is really too soon to say what is going to happen".
However, she quipped that "there are exchanges at the moment".
Macron and Marcos talked for the first time through a telephone call last 16 September. Two weeks later, they met in New York on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly.
Asked for a comment, the Department of Foreign Affairs said it did not receive any information regarding the matter.
"We have not received information regarding a presidential visit to France," DFA spokesperson Teresita Daza told Daily Tribune.
