Acting National Capital Region Police Office director Brig. General Jonnel Estomo lauded the drug operatives of the Southern Police District in connection with the confiscation of P700,000 worth of shabu and the dismantling of a drug den in Taguig City.
Estomo cited the anti-illegal drug efforts of the Southern Police District that resulted in the apprehension of three drug peddlers tagged as high value individuals and street level individuals, dismantling of a drug den and confiscation of 105 grams of shabu in a buy-bust operation conducted at Rohale Street Barangay Calzada Tipas , Taguig City.
P/Col. Kirby John B. Kraft, acting district director of SPD, identified the suspects as Juvylyn Basco Ramirez a.k.a Bente, 42 years old, (HVI-Pusher/Drug Den Maintainer); Tahir Mamasabolod Sumlay, 34 years old, tricycle driver (HVI-Pusher), Bajunaid Candot Yusoph, 43 years old, laborer (HVI-Pusher), Melandro Blancaflor Lazarte, 41 years old, contractor (SLI-User) and Mark Anthony Pulga Alelojo, 40 years old, (SLI-User).
The report showed that at about 5:25 p.m. of 4 October, elements of the District Drug Enforcement Unit-Southern Police District with District Mobile Force Battalion personnel conducted a buy-bust operation resulting in the discovery of a drug den and seizure of six heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu weighing more or less 105 grams.
Recovered from the suspects were more or less 105 grams of shabu with DDB value of P714,000.00.
The suspects were brought to SPD-DDEU office for documentation and disposition. Complaints for Violation of Sections 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs) Section 6 (Maintenance of a Den, Dive or Resort), and Section 11 (Possession of illegal drugs) under Article II of RA 9165 are now being prepared against the arrested suspects.
Meanwhile, all recovered pieces of evidence will be turned over to SPD Forensic Unit for laboratory examination.
