Sen. Bong Go had his team provide needed support and distribute assistance to 45 fire-hit families in Dasmariñas City, Cavite on Friday, 30 September.
As he remains steadfast in bringing necessary aid to those in distress, Go reaffirmed, in his video message, that the government continues to strive to ensure that no Filipino is left behind towards recovery.
He likewise expressed his gratitude to former president Rodrigo Duterte for signing the Bureau of Fire Protection Modernization Act of 2021. The senator then reassured the Filipinos that the bureau will be more equipped in addressing and preventing fire-related situations.
Under Republic Act No. 11589, which Go primarily authored and co-sponsored, the BFP is mandated to undergo a ten-year modernization program that includes acquiring and upgrading fire equipment, recruiting more fire personnel, and providing specialized training, among others.
Go's team held the relief operation at Barangay Santa Fe Covered Court where they handed out snacks, grocery packs, shirts, canned goods, and masks to the affected families. They likewise gave away cellular phones, shoes, and balls for volleyball to some.
The Department of Social Welfare and Development also provided financial assistance to each affected household.
