Where do I begin to tell the sweet and great love story of Jason and Catherine Jalandoni?
Where do I start?
'We met when we were in high school," Catz narrated. "'We reunited after a couple of years of being best friends. He was my first and only boyfriend and I was his first and only girlfriend."
After a nine-year relationship, the two tied the knot in Wack-Wack, Mandaluyong, an alternative to the dream wedding Catz always wanted.
"My wife always dreamed of a garden wedding, but back then, there was no available venue to suit her requirement except for the traditional venues. We wanted to be unique so we just decided that Wack Wack was the best choice," Jason told this writer.
He continued, "When I had the means, I converted this old family property in Tagaytay into a garden wedding venue for Catz so she can fulfill her dreams by fulfilling the dreams of other brides who wanted a perfect venue for their nuptial."
Thus was born The Glens in Tagaytay, a three-hectare weddings and event place that offers nature at its finest with lush greens and forest, beautiful cottages, with the cool climate that Tagaytay is known for.
But the most interesting back story in The Glens is the Lagoon Cottage, also known as the "Honeymoon Lodge."
The Lagoon Cottage is the "meaning" of Jason's love for Catz.
"Catz is a big fan of the movie The Blue Lagoon, and she wanted to have a lagoon just like in that movie. I built this cottage with the pool to resemble that lagoon in the movie. This is my gift to her," Jason said.
A happy Catz responded, "I still feel goosebumps every time I think of Jason. He is the reason why I can do anything. He is an introvert and I am an extrovert. We are completely opposite individuals, but we are completely happy with each other. We don't know how to be without each other."
To which Jason added, "She fills my heart."
