The National Bureau of Investigation is waiting for a commitment order from the court after actor-TV host Vhong Navarro voluntarily surrendered after the release of an arrest warrant for the rape case model Deniece Cornejo filed against him.

An NBI insider told Daily Tribune that Navarro on 19 September spent the night in the agency's head office in Quezon City after receiving his arrest warrant.

On 20 September, NBI agents escorted Navarro to the detention cell in the agency's office on Taft Avenue, Manila.

Rape is a non-bailable offense.

Earlier on 19 September, Navarro paid P36,000 in bail for a separate case of acts of lasciviousness filed against him also by Cornejo.
