At least 10 families will have a bleak holiday season this year after their houses were destroyed in a fire that occurred in a residential area in Navotas City before dawn Thursday.
The fire broke out at around 4:28 a.m. along C3 Road, Barangay. NBBS, Dagat-Dagatan.
According to the Navotas City — Bureau of Fire Protection, the blaze started at the house of one Antonio Amoscos, who also became a fire victim when his son and nephew was killed.
And since most of the houses in the area were made of light materials, the fire spread faster, and was quickly raised to the 2nd alarm just a few minutes later.
The fire was declared under control at 5:09 a.m. and was completely extinguished or declared fire out at 5:33 a.m.
In about an hour of the said fire incident, five houses and a junk shop were consumed by the fire.
According to the Navotas City Disaster Office, families who lost their homes, are currently staying in the city's evacuation center and have also been given relief goods.
