Reelectionist Sen. Joseph Victor Ejercito on Wednesday expressed his elation over President Rodrigo Duterte’s endorsement of his reelection bid — citing such as “recognition” to his hard work in the Senate.
The President made the announcement during the groundbreaking of the San Lorenzo Ruiz Hospital where Ejercito, an advocate of health care services, was also present, saying the senator is one of his candidates during the May midterm elections.
“I thank President Duterte for his trust and endorsement of my candidacy,” Ejercito said. “I am happy that the President recognized my service to the public which is untainted with corruption at only focused on uplifting the lives of every Filipino.”
Ejercito branded the President’s endorsement as a huge boost to his reelection bid. Recent surveys showed the reelectionist senator’s ranking has improved and now within the Magic 12.
Apart from Mr. Duterte’s endorsement, Ejercito’s reelection bid also has the backing of Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte’s Hugpong ng Pagbabago.
