A 17-year-old suspected of selling marijuana online has been arrested by Pasig City police.
The suspect was apprehended in a buy-bust operation along the so-called “Tambakan Area” at Eusebio Avenue in Barangay San Miguel at 6:45 p.m. of 25 July 2018.
The suspect was charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, but he was turned over to the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) instead.
The suspect was the “same minor who is in a photo with another minor demonstrating a dirty finger and telling that they can’t be caught by the police for they are minors,” according to Senior Supt. Bernabe Balba, director of the Eastern Police District.
The photo posted on the social media went viral and reached the attention of the Balba, who immediately ordered the arrest of the teen.

The arrest was made by officers of the District Drug Enforcement Unit led by Chief Insp. Allan Miparanum, District Intelligence Unit (DIU) and District Special Operations Unit under Supt. Hendrix Mangaldan and the District Mobile Force.
Recovered from the teen were one tea bag of marijuana, three sachet containing methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu and the P300 buy-bust money.
Balba said the suspect was selling marijuana worth P500,000 last month.
He was also the same person who was arrested last month in Pasig City Market for a theft case.
He was brought to the DSWD’s “Bahay Aruga” in Pasig City but escaped.
DIU intelligence record showed that the suspect is a member of Anselle Rivera Drug Group.
The group uses minors as drug runners, Balba said.
The group was dismantled after Rivera and his drug courier identified as Patrick John Magalona was arrested recently.
