It was an evening of fashion, glamor and a little drama at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino when designer Cary Santiago presented his latest collection, Cacciatore, which means “she who hunts.”
The title alone gave a hint of the woman Cary had in mind, a woman who knows what she wants and is not afraid to go after it. Strong and confident, but still very feminine, she was the inspiration behind the collection.
As the models came down the runway, one beautiful creation followed another. Cary is known for his exquisite workmanship, and once again his attention to detail was evident in their intricate designs, flattering silhouettes and beautiful textures. There was drama in some of the pieces, softness in others but each had that unmistakable Cary Santiago touch.
For years, Cary Santiago has been one of the names closely associated with Cebu’s fashion scene. His designs have a distinctive identity, elegant, elaborate and beautifully crafted. He has built a reputation for creating gowns that make a statement without losing the grace of the woman wearing them. His talent lies not only in the clothes he creates, but in his ability to bring his vision to life through every detail.
What made the show interesting was the way the collection seemed to tell a story. The Cacciatore woman was not one to simply wait for things to happen. She was confident, determined and very much in control, while retaining the elegance and sophistication that Cary brings to his designs. The collection reflected that spirit through his striking, rich details and dramatic presentation.
The Waterfront Pacific ballroom was filled with fashion enthusiasts, friends and familiar faces from Cebu’s social scene, all eager to see what Cary had created this time. There was much appreciation as each look appeared, with the audience clearly enjoying the variety and artistry of the collection.
By the finale, it was evident that Cacciatore was not just about beautiful clothes. It was about a woman with purpose and a strong sense of herself.
Cary once again gave Cebu a fashion evening to remember, a celebration of creativity, beautiful craftsmanship and the timeless allure of a woman who knows exactly what she wants.
