Myrus Apacible turns painful health battle into a powerful showbiz comeback

For Myrus Apacible, returning to the spotlight carries a deeper meaning than simply performing again.
The Filipino singer-songwriter is rebuilding his place in the entertainment industry after going through one of the most difficult periods of his life—a serious struggle with depression that eventually led him to step away from the public eye.
Behind the music and performances was a personal battle that demanded his attention. Taking time away from showbiz gave Myrus the opportunity to confront what he was experiencing, focus on his well-being and gradually find his way toward recovery.
Now, he is ready to face an audience again with a different perspective.
Myrus is marking this new chapter through his comeback concert, “Myrus, My Time,” happening at the Music Museum on October 9, 2026. More than a showcase of his music, the concert is expected to reflect the singer’s journey through difficult moments, healing and his renewed determination to pursue the career he loves.
His comeback also brings him back to an industry where he has already made his mark both as a performer and songwriter.
Long before becoming familiar to television audiences, Myrus had been building his name through OPM. His songwriting earned wider industry attention when he became a finalist in the 2013 Philippine Popular Music Festival, or Philpop, with the emotionally driven composition “Sana Pinatay Mo Na Lang Ako,” interpreted by Kimpoy Feliciano.
He later reached a broader audience when he joined the second season of GMA Network’s “The Clash” in 2019, making it into the competition’s Top 16.
Myrus has also written songs that found their way to other performers. Among the titles associated with his songwriting career is “Wala Man Sa’yo Ang Lahat,” which was recorded by Kim Chiu. His body of work also includes “Pusong Lito,” further establishing his affinity for emotional songs about love and relationships.
But this time around, Myrus is bringing something even more personal to the stage—his own story.
After experiencing success, stepping away and enduring a difficult period with his mental health, the singer is approaching his return with a renewed sense of purpose.
“Myrus, My Time” therefore represents more than another date on his performance calendar. For the singer-songwriter, October 9 could mark the beginning of a second act—one shaped not only by the songs that made people notice him, but also by the personal journey that brought him back to the stage.
