The Philippine National Police (PNP) announced Thursday that it is pursuing closer collaboration with Slovak law enforcement agencies to enhance police training, knowledge sharing, and public safety programs.
PNP chief Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. hosted Slovak Ambassador to the Philippines Miloš Koterec during a courtesy visit Tuesday at Camp Crame.
The meeting aligns with directives from President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and Interior and Local Government Secretary Jonvic Remulla to build police capabilities through international law enforcement partnerships.
Nartatez cited that the visit provides an opportunity for both nations to explore bilateral cooperation in police development, public safety frameworks, training programs, and operational best practices.
The diplomatic engagement follows the recent opening of the Embassy of the Slovak Republic in Manila, establishing a direct channel for government-to-government collaboration between the two nations.
Nartatez stressed that cross-border partnerships aim to modernize PNP personnel development and strengthen the department's response to security threats that extend beyond national borders.
