A helmet is a bare essential for bikers’ safety. An old man recently spotted biking on a trail in Readington Township, New Jersey, USA, apparently knew this — and nothing else — as shown in a stolen photograph of him shared by an anonymous resident, according to local police.

The sighting of the unidentified biker with a helmet on but no clothes was just one of many over the years, New York Post (NYP) reported, citing residents’ accounts.

The Readington Township Police Department said on its Facebook page that it was looking for the naked biker and asked the public to report any sighting of him.

“And as a friendly reminder: Helmets are strongly encouraged. Pants are even more strongly encouraged,” the department said, according to NYP.

Meanwhile, a surge of 911 calls about the sighting of the legendary Bigfoot in another state alerted cops on 1 September.

Alarmed residents of Damariscotta, Maine, snapped photos of what appeared to be a large figure covered head to toe in fur and wearing a top hat, NYP reported.

Officer William Smith of the Damariscotta Police Department finally found the humanoid monster “sitting peacefully” on Main Street and realized he was actually just a man in a “very convincing” Bigfoot costume, police wrote in a statement.

Smith talked to the costumed man as passersby took photos. After their talk, the department announced that this Bigfoot was not real.
